FAQs

What is Piped Natural Gas (PNG)?

PNG is mainly comprised of Methane (CH4) with low percentage of other higher hydrocarbons. The ratio of Carbon to Hydrogen is low in Methane therefore it burns completely thus proving it as environment friendly. Pipeline network is needed for its transportation after the procurement of it from the oil / gas wells.

What are the normal supply and regulated pressures?

All regulators have a maximum supply pressure. The spring range selected for output pressures should be based on the desired regulated pressure range. The output pressure setting should be in the middle of that spring range for best results.

Do you have any specific thread size for particular regulator models?

End connection of the regulator is  depends on the capacity as well as the end users requirements. Greenglobe offers Customize solutions for gas regulators. Write us for further details.

What are your flow volume requirements?

It must be determined how much gas flow capacity is required as per your application requirement.  As flow reaches maximum capacity of a regulator, performance characteristics can change. Droop, accuracy and sensitivity can be affected by flow.

Do you have any special environmental requirements?

Is the regulator being used in a hazardous environment? Is it going to be exposed to corrosive materials ie. Salt water/air, wash down bleach and water?

Greenglobe offers different solutions like Powder coated,Painted surface as per customer requirements. Write us with your exact requirement with environmental details where the product going to be installed.

Does your application go through small scale pressure changes?

Greenglobe regulators are capable to perform for applications with small scale pressure changes, that require accurate and repeatable pressure adjustments . Please brief us with all technical factors while order us as there may be special requirements / governing factors to be added as per your requirements to ensure a flawless performance

What happens if you oversize a regulator?

If it’s too big for the application, your orifize and seat will be too large, allowing too much flow. Every time that regulator opens, it will allow more flow than you expect. The regulator will do more work than it should need to. You’ll see more fluctuations and spikes in your downstream pressure.

What about if you undersize it?

Instead of having a seat and Orifice too large, you’ll have one too small. It will open as much as it can to let through as much flow as it can. You are probably going to operate closer to the choke flow range. You are also probably going to erode the seat faster than with a properly sized regulator.

Can we use these regulators for other than natural Gas?

All Greenglobe regulators can function well with LPG also. Before do the installation, ensure the flow capacity by applying correction factor with respect to its specific gravity.

Does the Inlet Pressure range to be maintained for these regulators?

Yes. If we aren’t changing anything on the loading force, our sensing mechanism will work to balance out against that loading force. If the inlet pressure force goes down, the only way to counterbalance it is an increase in outlet pressure force.
